Fondation Jeannine Manuel

Current Projects
The primary goal of the Fondation Jeannine Manuel is to bring to the school the financial support it needs to continue to be at the forefront of pedagogical innovation while continuing to serve the school’s mission to educate the future citizens of the world. These are some of the key projects that the foundation will provide resources for.
New science curriculum
Develop a new science curriculum in Middle School (collège) under the guidance of Georges Charpak, 1992 Physics Nobel Laureate and foundation trustee. Rather than approach science as a collection of separate disciplines, the proposed curriculum will approach science as a process of student-centered inquiry echoing the perennial human quest to “read the book of nature.”

Scholarships
One of the Foundation’s main goals is to secure a scholarship program that your school can be proud of, so talented students may have access to an EABJM education—regardless of their economic circumstances.

Cost of each scholarship: 50 000 €

Professional Development
Assist the school in sending teachers abroad (mainly to English-speaking countries) to develop “best international teaching practices.”

Cost: 50 000 € per year for approximately ten trips.
Works of Art
Surround students with major works of art (paintings, frescoes, and sculptures)—part of the common artistic treasure of mankind—by placing high quality full-scale reproductions throughout the school.

Cost: 72 000 €
Cultural History
Develop an integrated curriculum for the collège around a core of cultural history, i.e., not only the traditional political and social history, but also art history (visual arts, architecture, music), and the history of science.

Cost: 50 000 €
